if we go by the recent past,
chances are good
that we’ll make it back in one piece
though there are swirling winds
& heavy rains in the forecast,
lightning, thunder,
& countless other factors
odds are favorable
that come tomorrow we’ll be here,
we’ll be back right at it again
if we go by what’s been done,
what hasn’t been accomplished,
a betting man would say
that they’re better than 50-50
